I've had some extra time on my hands lately (i.e. no job) so I decided to make Valentine's gifts this year. I know these magnets are a common craft, I'm definitely not re-inventing the wheel, but they are fun and easy to make and are sure to show any recipient that you care. Isn't that what Valentine's Day is all about?
Supplies:
-Colorful paper-valentine inspired
-Rubber letter stamps
-Clear glass aquarium stones
-Magnets
-Black sharpie marker
-Pencil
-White acrylic paint
-Clear silicon glue (I used Amazing E-6000, available at any craft store)
-Paint brush
-Scissors
Directions:
1. Cut paper into 4 squares (one for each letter in the word LOVE) just a bit bigger than glass stones.
2. Stamp the letters LOVE one each of the pieces of paper. Use the permanent marker to ink the stamp, this way when you glue the paper to the stone your letters will not smudge.
3. Trace around the stone with your pencil and cut out.
4. Put a generous amount of glue on the front surface of your paper and press the glass stone flat side down onto the paper, pressing hard to remove the bubbles. Let dry completely.
5. Paint the back side of the paper with the white acrylic paint and let dry completely.
6. Glue the magnet to the back of the glass stone and let dry.
7. Give to people you love!
